Dawn's Bio

​

Dawn Watts was born Deaf to Deaf parents in Cleveland, Ohio.  She has been an ASL instructor since 1980 in northwest Ohio and worked for the Gallaudet Interpreting Service for ten years as CDI-P (Certified Deaf Interpreter Provisional).  I moved back to Ohio, where I used to work for Outreach Service as a Deaf Interpreter Educator and a substitute educational interpreter license from the State of Ohio for five years.  She is officially retired after 32 years as a freelance interpreter.

She is involved with the DeafBlind community as Advocacy and Support Service Provider (SSP)—a number of volunteer services for non-profit organizations, including horse therapy for mental health.

​

She is the mother of 3 sons and 1 daughter, and 3 grandchildren.
